Doctor Profile

Jason Thorn D.V.M.

Jason is a 2002 Graduate of Ohio State University of Veterinary Medicine. Joined and purchased Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 2007. Dr. Thorn is married and has one daughter. He has a cat and a dog and currently resides in Bulter Township.

 

Herb Betts D.V.M.

Herb is a 1969 graduate of Ohio State University of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Betts joined Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 1977 as co-owner. He is married and has 4 children and currently resides in Vandalia.

Sara Helman D.V.M.

Dr. Sarah Helman grew up in Tipp City and graduated from Tippecanoe High School. She attended Wright State University for undergraduate studies and graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Since graduation she has worked in small animal practices seeing primarily cat and dog patients but also enjoys working with exotic pets , such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, and bearded dragons, when the opportunity arises. This year Dr. Helman completed a six month course of acupuncture study and is pleased to offer this service to her patients. Most of her acupuncture patients are being treated for painful conditions such as back pain and arthritis. In her free time, Dr. Helman enjoys spending time with her husband, son, four dogs, two cats, and 23 chickens. She also enjoys spending time outdoors working on their property, gardening, canning, and tinkering on her old truck.

Carolyn: RVT/Clinic Manager

Carolyn graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1989 with a Veterinary Technician degree. She started at Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 1988. Carolyn is married and has a daughter. She has 5 dogs, 2 cats, 3 horses and a variety of other farm animals.

Miranda: Receptionist

Miranda joined Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 2000. She is married and has a dog. Miranda enjoys the outdoors, including birdwatching.

Nancy: Receptionist/RVT

Nancy graduated from Colonel White High School in 1974 and joined Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 1978. She has 2 daughters and a grandson. She also has and loves her multiple cats.

Aubrey: Veterinary Assistan

Aubrey joined Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 2001. She is married and has 2 daughters. Aubrey has 2 dogs and multiple cats.

Terynn: RVT

Terynn graduated from Sinclair Community College in 2014. She joined us in 2016. She has 2 dogs and one cat. She enjoys crafting.

Marisela: Receptionist

She started with us in 2017, recently moved from Texas. She is married and lives in Vandalia with their 2 dogs and one cat.

Gwen: Receptionist

Gwen joined Dixie Veterinary Clinic in December of 2009. She is married and has 3 daughters and a dog.

Marcia: Receptionist

Marcia joined Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 2012. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 28 years and can't imagine life without being around pets. Marcia is married and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She has a dog and 4 grand-dogs.
