Dr. Peterson was originally from western Kansas but has practiced veterinary medicine in Ohio for over 25 years. She has loved animals and cared for pets of all kinds her entire life. Julie graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She has two children — a daughter who lives in Chicago and a son in New York City. She lives on a small farm with 1 horse, 2 goats, 13 cats, 3 geese, 28 chickens, 1 dog, 1 snake, 1 turtle, a beautiful Koi fish, and 5 hives of bees.

Dr. Jason Thorn is a 2002 Graduate of The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine and purchased Dixie Veterinary Clinic in 2007. He is married, has one daughter and enjoys outside activities such as hiking and fishing. Dr. Thorn has two standard poodles at home that enjoy chasing geese away from his pond as he tinkers on his hobby farm. His family also has free range chickens to keep them busy. Dr. Thorn loves serving the Vandalia Butler community at Dixie Veterinary Clinic and serves internationally through clean water missions in Kenya.
Dr. Sarah Helman grew up in Tipp City and graduated from Tippecanoe High School. She attended Wright State University for undergraduate and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Since graduation she has worked in small animal practices seeing primarily cat and dog patients but also enjoys working with exotic pets, such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, and bearded dragons, when the opportunity arises. In 2020, Dr. Helman became certified in acupuncture and is pleased to offer this service to her patients suffering with painful conditions such as back pain and arthritis. In her free time, Dr. Helman enjoys spending time with her husband, son, four dogs, two cats, and 23 chickens. She also enjoys spending time outdoors working on their property, gardening, canning, and tinkering on her old truck.
Dr. Scott Brown hails from Dover, in NE Ohio. He is an only child and grew up with lots of German Shorthaired Pointers, as his parents are avid hunters and dog trainers. Dr. Brown knew he wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age and did his undergraduate schooling at The Ohio State University, majoring in Biology with a minor in Animal Science. After graduating, he worked for 4 years in Columbus as a veterinary assistant and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University in St. Kitts, West Indies. He finished his clinical year back at The Ohio State University. Dr. Brown has 2 German Shorthaired Pointers named Calvin and Liv. In his free time, he enjoys hiking/camping with the dogs, kayaking, golfing, as well as computer gaming with friends.
Dr. Blake Lambert is a true Ohio buckeye, completing both her undergraduate degree and doctoral degree from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up knowing that she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very early age. Her family enjoys the Russian Samoyed breed and Dr. Lambert currently has 2 Samoyeds, Alaska and Kodiak. While serving our furry patients at Dixie Veterinary Clinic keeps her very busy, Dr. Lambert enjoys creative projects such as cooking, knitting, crocheting and quilting. She enjoys spending time with her family in Columbus as often as possible. Dr. Lambert enjoys treating dogs and cats during all phases of life and looks forward to meeting you!
